  4. โ€œBarbarian Daysโ€ A Book by William Finnegan โ€“ $19

Perhaps my number one pick, this Pulitzer-winning surf memoir is an incredible read for any surfer or ocean lover. Iโ€™ve re-read this book multiple times, itโ€™s that good! You can find it on Amazon here

Iโ€™ve been a proud monthly supporter of Surfrider for many years and can highly attest to the quality work they do. You can gift a donation to this amazing organizationย here

Gifts Between $25-$50

  1. Freaks of Nature Reef-Safe Sunscreen โ€“ $35

Kelly Slaterโ€™s (the GOAT) new company! Every surfer needs some quality sunscreen to keep their skin healthy. When purchasing sunscreen, itโ€™s super important to make sure the sunscreen is reef-safe! Keep your favorite surfer protected from the sun with Freaks of Nature sunscreen. Itโ€™s reef-safe, water-resistant, and free of harmful chemicals, making it a smart and eco-friendly choice for the environment-conscious surfer. You can purchase it off their website here. Sun Bum is also another good sunscreen brand that I use frequently.

  2. Tumbler or Yeti for Beverage โ€“ $38

A reliable tumbler or Yeti is essential for early mornings on the beach or post-surf refreshments. Look for a durable, insulated option to keep beverages hot or cold for hours. Your surf-loving friend will appreciate having their coffee warm or post-session water chilled! You can find it on Amazon here.

  3. Gift Card to a Local Surf Shop $5-$100

Not sure exactly what they need? A gift card to their favorite local surf shop lets them pick up the latest gear, surfing essentials, or even apparel. Supporting local shops also strengthens the surf community, making this gift a win-win. My favorite surf shop is Spyder Surfboards in Manhattan beach!

  4. C-Monsta Wetsuit Hanger โ€“ $49.99

This is a newer and fun product. Perfect for keeping wetsuits fresh and sand-free, the C-Monsta hanger is a great addition for someone that surfs cold water. Itโ€™s designed to hold wetsuits, gloves, and booties while allowing air circulation, helping wetsuits dry faster and stay odor-free. If youโ€™re buying for someone that doesnโ€™t surf that cold of water then you can probably just get them a normal wetsuit hanger. You can find the C-Monsta here on Amazon and a regular wetsuit hanger here on Amazon

Gifts Between $50-$100

  1. SurfEars Earplugs โ€“ $59.95

For surfers who want to protect their ears from cold water and wind, SurfEars are a top choice. These high-quality earplugs are comfortable, keep water out, and allow hearing, so they donโ€™t miss out on important sounds while out on the waves. Almost every surfer will develop
surferโ€™s ear at some point in their life, which makes it incredibly painful to go surfing. Earplugs allow them to keep surfing pain-free. I bought SurfEars 4 years ago and am so glad I did; I like that they are higher quality and more expensive compared to the $8 Docโ€™s ear plugs, which some people like. I just prefer the higher quality for my ears. This is a good gift if someone surfs cold water! You can purchase SurfEars from their website here

  2. Car Key Lock Box - $62

Do you ever wonder where surferโ€™s store their car keys while surfing? It can be a huge challenge. If your friend has an electronic car key (most people) this is probably a big pain point. A car lock box for your key solves this problem. You just lock your keys in the lock box and attach it to your door handle and problem solved. Iโ€™ve used this one by FCS for years and it works great. You can purchase one here on Amazon

  3. Surf Helmet Bucket Hat โ€“ $75

Helmets have been rising in popularity in surfing, with many prioritizing the safety of their noggin while riding waves. This one might not be for everyone, but Surf Skull offers a cool surf helmet that is disguised as a bucket hat or baseball hat. Pretty cool idea, and Iโ€™ve seen people using them. If you have someone that wants to be safe but also be discreet about wearing a helmet, this is a cool choice. You can get one off of their website here.

  4. Stab Magazine Premium Subscription - $79

Stab mag is the best! If your friend loves surf content, surf movies, articles and news then Stab is the best option on the market. They deliver amazing content with a refreshing no BS take on it all. They have a new premium offering that gives members exclusive content, giveaways, and more. Iโ€™ve been a premium subscriber for years now and canโ€™t say enough great things about it. You can gift a membership here on their website.

  5. Slowtide Changing Poncho โ€“ $85

I love Slowtide, itโ€™s a super cool company that just makes awesome towels. Their cozy changing poncho is perfect for staying warm and comfortable post-session. With soft materials and a hooded design, itโ€™s ideal for chilly days, letting surfers change out of wetsuits with ease and warmth. Itโ€™s definitely on the higher end of ponchos, and you can find cheaper ones on Amazon, but the material on the Slowtide one is the best.ย  You can purchase it on Amazon here. They also make some awesome towels you can explore on Amazon here

  6. Beach Shower Box โ€“ $88

I personally HATE being salty or sandy after a surf session. A portable beach shower box lets surfers rinse off sand and saltwater right after a session, keeping cars cleaner and wetsuits in better shape. Itโ€™s a practical, thoughtful gift that will be used all season long. You can purchase Beach Boxโ€™s portable shower on Amazon here. Thereโ€™s other brands that make these but this one seems legit and surfer owned.

  7. Surfline Premium Subscription โ€“ $99

If youโ€™re buying a gift for a surfer in the US, they most likely use Surfline to check the camera before they surf. A Surfline Premium subscription allows them to check the waves with no ads and for unlimited time. Once I got my subscription over 10 years agoโ€ฆ I never went back. You can buy it on Surflineโ€™s website here.

With gifts across all budgets, this guide has something to fill every surferโ€™s holiday season with more stoke. Happy gifting!
